Jessica Eiland Anders

Coming from a community development background, I found that creating equitable communities is insufficient without a youth outlook and perspectives. The next generation needs to be involved in the process of developing their communities in the ways they see fit.

Jessica served as special projects manager until October 2022. In her role she worked closely with all functions in the Office of the President as well as with external partners to advance the Foundation’s mission in service of Detroit children.

Throughout her career, Jessica has worked extensively in nonprofit management, affordable housing development, project management, community engagement, and partnership development. Prior to working for the Foundation, Jessica worked in St. Louis, Missouri where she held positions as project manager for Rise Community Development, president of Northside Community Housing, and associate director of Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council. Jessica has a master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, urban/community studies, and African & African-American studies from the University of Michigan.
