So many things–and so many people–impact a child’s life and their well-being. Family and homelife, certainly. But also neighborhood safety and recreation, education and employment opportunities, social programs and more–all things we as a society determine the design of.

In this episode, we start with a hard look at the conditions many Michigan kids are growing up in that impact their health, education, and prospects for their future. Kayla Tate, data, research, and communications leader for 482Forward, shares a youth perspective on what’s working well to support children and young adults and where our attention is needed. U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, who recently retired after a 50-year career as an elected official, offers candid insights into the responsibility of politicians to follow the will of citizens and serve their best interests.
