Willyne was a member of the 2021-2023 Skillman Youth Council. Below is their bio from the time they served on the council.

Willyne Smith (17) is a junior at Renaissance High School. She is a member of The Renaissance Orchestra and the Phoenix Outreach volunteer club. In her free time, she is a creative of myriad mediums: painting, drawing, and musical composition.

Willyne has a passion for policy and research with a focus on making Detroit a more equitable city. During her time on The Skillman Foundation’s President’s Youth Council, she hopes to advocate for increased funds for education and food security for Detroit children and families.
