The Skillman Foundation

This blog and online magazine is by Skillman Youth Council member Analeise Martínez. Analeise is on the Youth Council’s storytelling committee designed to highlight the perspectives, ideas, and insights from the Skillman Youth Council. 

In honor of Women’s History Month, I really wanted to amplify and highlight the amazing young women in Detroit. The stories included in this magazine come from strong and hardworking Latina women. Reading the responses from each girl gave me goosebumps, and I know that there are hundreds of more stories from other amazing women in Detroit that have yet to be shared. I hope that the audience is inspired by these talented young women and that the other girls of Detroit know that they can do anything. Never let anyone define you or make you feel like you don’t belong, and strive to be the best version of yourself. Read the magazine below:
