The Skillman Foundation

This grant continues to support Wellspring to provide virtual and/or in-person literacy and math services and leadership engagement experiences to 380 kindergarten through twelfth grade students with a focus on students in the Brightmoor and Cody Rouge communities. It uses a multi?pronged effort including serving more students in its traditional on-site model, partnerships with Old Redford Academy (K-8), Detroit Service Learning Academy (DSLA), and the Brightmoor Quality Initiative, a neighborhood collaborative of early childhood centers. This grant also provides resources to the Wellspring Youth Advisory Council, supporting leadership development and youth-led projects that positively impact the Brightmoor community.
