This grant will provide continued general operating support to Every School Day Counts Detroit (ESDCD), a coalition of community partners and stakeholders, through the coalition’s fiduciary relationship with Urban Neighborhood Initiatives. ESDCD is dedicated to increasing Detroit’s school attendance by engaging educators, students, and families in the four pillars of ESDCD: 1) wrap-around services, 2) staff technical assistance & professional development, 3) communications, and 4) research. This grant will provide resources to ESDCD to continue engaging Detroit Public Schools Community District and Charter schools across the city in the 4 Pillars initiative. The grant will also enable ESDCD to do a deep dive into what is needed to build an effective policy agenda that can be executed for the 2024-25 school year.
