This grant allows Teen Hype to lead a youth-driven effort to design a comprehensive roadmap for creating and sustaining a positive youth outcome-focused, results-oriented Youth Action Plan for Detroit. In partnership with a community coalition of youth-serving organizations, youth, and caring adults, Teen Hype will coordinate community conversations on various youth-focused topics, leading to the crafting of the plan by the end of the year 2023. The resources from this grant will grow capacity in the youth engagement portions of the plan, ensuring youth voice throughout every step of the plan’s development. This grant also provides funds to support the activation of the Youth Action Plan. Detroit4Youth, a coalition of organizations, youth, and families representing the broad spectrum of youth development (birth through post-secondary), will identify the core values, guiding principles, and decision-making processes necessary to activate the implementation and broad advocacy needed for citywide adoption.
