The Skillman Foundation

This grant will support Southwest Economic Solutions (SWES) to provide high-quality and high-impact afterschool experiences within safe, supportive, and engaging environments to 40 Detroit youth ages 16-24 that strengthen their workforce readiness skills, voice, and power. By providing case management supports, academic and wrap around resources, and critical employment experiences that lead to achieving completion in critical certifications that lead to job placement. This grant will also support participant skill development and execution, through Motown Motivated Podcast, of a youth-led podcast, Hello Detroit. This grant furthers the Foundation’s effort to support youth in a combination of experiences that positively impacts whole-child development
