The Skillman Foundation

This grant will support CODE313, in partnership with Detroit Parks and Recreation Department, to provide citywide high-quality and high impact afterschool experiences, within safe, supportive, and engaging environments across up to 13 Detroit Parks and Recreation Centers. These experiences will serve to strengthen social and emotional skill sets, and STEM related skills in coding, robotics, virtual, and augmented reality disciplines. The grant also supports participant exposure to a variety of STEM-related career fields, with options to gain certifications that lead to post-secondary employment. This grant furthers the Foundation’s effort to support youth in a combination of experiences that positively impacts the development of the whole child.
