In order for people, particularly our youth, to engage in physical fitness and self-care, the activities need to be fun and entertaining. With this grant, BGCSM intends to purchase two Mirror Fitness systems and two Peloton bikes. Both of these fitness machines are interactive and provide motivation and entertainment, all while promoting fitness. Further, we will continue and expand the yoga and meditation classes that are currently offered in the self-care room at our Sandy and David Dauch campus. That particular self-care room was borne out of the COVID-19 pandemic. The room was created to be used not only for youth and staff who were not feeling well, but also as a place where anyone who was overwhelmed by the reality of the pandemic could seek respite. This has evolved into yoga and meditation/mindfulness classes now taking place in that space which we would like to expand with more program partners and more frequent offerings for our entire community, youth and adult alike.
