This grant will deepen Africa-America Institute’s (AAI) capacity to build and sustain partnerships with Detroit schools. Their Teaching Africa for Equity & Achievement Initiative (AAI-TAEA) will provide customized curriculum and instructional resources to University Preparatory Schools (U-Prep) and Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) in the implementation of culturally responsive education (CRE) within the grades four through 12 social studies curriculum.
