This grant will continue support to 826michigan’s pioneering initiative “Amplifying Student Voice” to provide Detroit elementary students with the unique experiences of 1) becoming published authors, and 2) seeing the value of using their writing to create change in their schools and neighborhoods. 826Michigan will continue to collaborate with University Prep’s elementary schools to provide K – 5th grade students access to unique and personalized writing experiences that increase self-confidence and understanding of how one uses writing to create change.
