This grant enables 826michigan to launch its “Amplifying Student Voice” project to provide Detroit elementary students with the unique experience of becoming published authors and seeing the value of using their writing to create change in their schools and neighborhoods. Over the 2022-2023 school year, 826michigan will collaborate with University Prep’s three elementary schools to provide K – 5th grade students access to engaging in unique and personalized writing experiences that increase self-confidence and understanding of how one uses writing to curate change.
