COVID313 virtual townhalls

Each Thursday at noon, the COVID313 Community Coalition hosts a virtual townhall for Detroit students and parents focused on supporting families during the Coronavirus outbreak. Expert guests share information about COVID-19, health and wellness, education and school updates, and accessing basic needs.

Covid313 is lead by the Community Education Commission and 482Forward and supported by a broad network of Detroit organizations. Its townhalls are produced in partnership with Detroit Public Television.

View COVID313 townhalls, including recordings of previous townhalls, on Detroit Public Television’s website or Facebook page.

The Skillman Foundation

The Skillman Foundation is a grantmaking organization established in 1960 by Rose Skillman. We have granted out more than $730 million and have served as a vocal advocate to strengthen K-12 education, afterschool programming, child-centered neighborhoods, youth and community leadership, and racial equity and justice.

We are in the process of developing a new strategic framework, co-designed with Detroit youth and their champions.
