Elizabeth received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan. During law school, Elizabeth served as an executive editor of the Michigan Journal of Race and Law and was a board member of the Latino Law Students Association and First Generation Law Students Association. She also represented clients as a student attorney in the Human Trafficking Clinic and the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic at Michigan Law.
Prior to law school, Elizabeth worked in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. She later practiced law at the firms of Foley & Lardner LLP, Dykema, and Ice Miller LLP before joining the City of Detroit.
