Dr. Herman Gray
Dr. Herman B. Gray is chairman of the department of pediatrics at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Prior to this role he served as president and chief executive officer of the United Way for Southeastern Michigan. He also held a number of other positions at Detroit Medical Center, including executive vice president of pediatric health services, and at Wayne State University.
Dr. Gray serves on many national, state and local boards and committees including the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC), Children’s Hospital Association, Children’s Hospitals International Executives Forum, CATCH Board of Trustees, Green Path Board, Detroit Symphony Orchestra Board, and Plymouth Educational Center Board. He has received honors including induction into the CATCH Hall of Fame, 1st Annual IMHOTEP Award of Excellence, Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion’s Humanitarian of the Year, and Modern Healthcare Magazine’s Top 25 Minority Executive in Healthcare. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.
