Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan, Inc.

This grant will support Junior Achievement (JA), in partnership with Detroit Parks and Recreation Department (P&R), to provide citywide high-quality and high-impact afterschool experiences to 800 children and youth (ages eight to 19) within safe, supportive, and engaging environments in up to 13 P&R Centers. These experiences will serve to strengthen social and emotional skill sets, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship STEM-related skills in coding, robotics, and virtual and augmented reality disciplines. The grant also supports participant exposure to a variety of STEM-related career fields, with options to gain certifications for post-secondary employment.
