This grant will enable Friends of the Children – Detroit (Friends-Detroit) to continue and amplify their two-generation programming approach. Specifically, this grant will support Friends-Detroit to provide resources to and address the most critical needs of caregivers whose children participate in Friends-Detroit’s mentorship program. Through their caregiver engagement specialist and programming designed to meet caregivers’ needs, Friends-Detroit aims to support and empower caregivers to build positive parent-child relationships, strengthen parenting skills, understand and navigate education and child welfare systems, and improve whole family stability through housing and employment supports.
