This grant enables Eastern Michigan University (EMU) to activate a Principal Wellness Professional Learning Community (PWPLC) project that will provide support to Detroit Black women principals. Specifically, Dr. Rema Vassar, an Associate Professor at EMU, in partnership with Black Male Educators Alliance (BMEA), will lead an authentic professional learning series and provide individualized coaching supports centered on personal wellness, belonging, and connection that will support principals and foster capacity and supports for teachers and staff at the schools they lead.
