This grant continues support to Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan (BGCSM) to provide high-quality and high-impact afterschool supports within safe, supportive, and engaging environments to Detroit youth ages six to 17 at their Detroit-based Clubs—Dick and Sandy Dauch, Fauver-Martin, and Lloyd H. Diehl—through summer 2022 and school year 2022-23. Combined, these clubs will serve over 1,000 youth through engaging, high impact experiences in career exposure and engagement, improved health and wellness through sports and mental health resources, and youth leadership opportunities. Additionally, this grant will support BGCSM leadership, staff, and youth to engage in local and statewide afterschool and out-of-school time (OST) advocacy coalitions that support increased resources that strengthen the Detroit afterschool and OST ecosystem.
