This grant continues support for the Autism Alliance of Michigan (AAoM), lead convener of two key multi-sector special education coalitions, to engage more robustly with Detroit parents and partners around special education. Over the next year, AAoM will partner with a Detroit community organization to launch a parent advocacy cohort while continuing to drive efforts to address systemic barriers to access, opportunity, and outcomes in education for students with disabilities.
