Nilda Thomas is currently the Interim Executive Assistant to The Skillman Foundation’s President & CEO Tonya Allen.
Nilda is a native of Detroit and a graduate of Henry Ford High School. She received her BA in Marketing and Communications from the University of Detroit and studied abroad for a year. She earned her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in e-Business from the University of Phoenix. Nilda is also fluent in Spanish.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Nilda worked with Deloitte, Microsoft, AT&T, Compuware, and EDS bringing with her a broad spectrum of talents ranging from marketing/communications, community relations, strategic partnerships, and consulting to strategy, project management, process improvement, data analytics, design thinking, and entrepreneurship.
In 2014 she was recognized as one of Michigan’s Top Talent as an innovative leader known for her business, marketing, and technology acumen and for championing digital transformation to improve customer engagement and business development practices. She has also been recognized in Black Enterprise and Hispanic Women in Business magazines.
Nilda has a passion for diversity and inclusion and has served on various non-profits boards including Matrix Human Services and was Co-Chair and Coach for ASCEND (Achievement, Self-Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking and Developmental Skills). The program focuses on college and career readiness skills for high school students with life, academic, career, character building, and STEM career skills.
Nilda is married to Joseph (Joe) of 26 years and has two daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and entertaining.
