Lindsey Barrett

Lindsey Barrett is a Program and Impact Fellow with The Skillman Foundation supporting the Foundation’s Education and Economic Impact impact areas.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Lindsey spent five years teaching and learning from Detroit’s brilliant and impassioned youth as a second-grade and middle school math teacher. Lindsey also brings experience in neighborhood development from her role as a Bohnett Public Service and Leadership Fellow in the City of Detroit’s Planning and Development Department.

Lindsey is completing her Master’s in Public Policy from the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum, both from Michigan State University where she focused on urban education.

A native Detroiter, Lindsey enjoys exploring arts and cultural happenings in the city, cooking, and weekend road trips.
