John Ziraldo, former vice president of program and strategy, oversaw the Foundation’s programmatic vision and strategy, and supports the development of program team members.
John has significant experience from both the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. Most recently serving as senior program officer for the William Davidson Foundation, he has also served as president and CEO of Lighthouse of Oakland County, director of programs at The Guidance Center, and founding executive director at the Thompson-McCully Foundation. Additionally, John had worked for the Skillman Foundation from 1989 to 2000, and served as one of the Foundation’s first program officers.
John holds a BA in Philosophy from Detroit’s Sacred Heart Seminary and a MPA from the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. He’s a life-long resident of Detroit and has been married to his wife Monica for 35 years. They enjoy both the excitement of downtown Detroit and the quiet of Michigan’s northern woods. John is an avid sports fan who loves the Wolverines, Red Wings and is still waiting for the Tigers to bring him up as a right-handed reliever.
