The Skillman Foundation

This grant supports an effort to understand the adult basic education landscape in Michigan, to evaluate existing state efforts to improve them, and to provide the foundation for a plan to move Michigan toward national leadership in the field. This project will include a literature review, interviews and a survey of stakeholders, research on the practices in select states; interviews with the population of focus, and a review of secondary data. A set of programmatic, policy, and funding recommendations will be developed from these findings.
