$50,000
This grant will support the University of Michigan Poverty Solutions Center to conduct a deeper analysis of the magnitude of child homelessness in Detroit and will convene and provide technical assistance to key system stakeholders and policymakers. The Detroit Child Homelessness Data Book Project is modeled after a similar effort in New York City that yielded additional annual funding as well as awareness of the impact youth homelessness has on student outcomes including academic proficiency, chronic absenteeism, and high school graduation.
