Skillman Foundation

This grant supports Learn Fresh Education Co.’s primary program, NBA Math Hoops, a simulated-basketball board game, curriculum, and community experience that teaches students fundamental math skills through direct engagement with real statistics of NBA and WNBA players. Its curriculum is tied to Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Learning Skills.

Specifically, the funding supports dedicated staffing to expand and improve the partnerships between NBA Math Hoops, Detroit schools (K-8; district and charter), and the City of Detroit’s Parks and Recreation Department.
