This grant continues to offer support to Inner Explorer (IE) to build social and emotional skills of children and youth through access to its mindfulness platform in at least 30 sites across Detroit: 20 afterschool sites, and in 10 charter school partners. During the 2020-21 school year, IE will provide 5,000 K-12 students and families (building on 1,000 students served from a combined 46 charter school and afterschool classes in 2019-20) with access to its online platform to provide proven practices that reduce stress and develop and embody self-awareness, self-control, resilience, and compassion. IE will provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to 60 organizational champions (two per site), documenting impact on adult/youth social and emotional well-being and positively contributing to the community’s system of whole-child support within an emotionally supportive environment
