Kumar Raj

Kumar Raj served as senior program officer, leading the Foundation’s College & Career Pathways work, from 2015 until 2021. He currently serves as a progrm officer for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Prior to joining the Foundation in 2015, Kumar completed his Master’s in Public Policy at the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, where he also completed his bachelor’s degree. Kumar worked with Ashoka’s Youth Venture for several years, stateside and abroad, helping young people launch their own social ventures based on the needs they identified in their communities. Kumar also has experience working with startup companies, teaching English to migrant farmworkers and working in city government. He volunteers his time with the Michigan Humane Society and Downtown Boxing Gym.

Kumar was born and raised in Flint, MI and now calls the city of Detroit home.
