Sesame Street visits COMPAS

January 26, 2011

Characters from the New York-based Sesame Street Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, visited the Center of Music and Performing Arts Southwest (COMPAS) in Detroit on Jan. 29. Gordon and Rosita - with walkaround's Elmo and Cookie Monster - entertained more than 150 kids and their families. They talked about the importance of family love, healthy eating and caring for kids during difficult economic times. The event was made possible through local collaboration and Sesame Street's national outreach initiatives, which reach beyond TV into local communities and schools to address the unmet needs of children and the folks who care for them.
