New law improves foster care

On Oct. 7, President Bush signed the Fostering Connection to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act (H.R. 6893) into law, which makes significant changes to the federal child welfare law.

The act will help children and youth in foster care by improving education and health care and by promoting permanent families for children through relative guardianship and adoption.
