Krista Jahnke named communications officer
DETROIT -- Krista Jahnke joins The Skillman Foundation as the communications officer.
Jahnke has worked as a journalist for the Detroit Free Press for nearly a decade, covering an array of topics from the Detroit Pistons to human interest stories about health, parenting and issues affecting the lives of metro Detroit women. She's most recently served as web editor, a role in which she managed content on Freep.com and led the paper's social media outreach. Jahnke has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University.
Created in 1960, The Skillman Foundation is a private philanthropy whose chief aim is to help develop good schools and good neighborhoods for children. Though grants are made throughout metropolitan Detroit, most grants are directed at six Detroit neighborhoods -- Chadsey/Condon, Southwest Detroit, Brightmoor, Osborn, and Cody/Rouge and the Northend -- and toward innovative and successful schools throughout the city of Detroit.
