"Concerning Kids" Study Now Online

Copies of the 55-page report containing the results from the first telephone poll of residents in Detroit and in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties is now available for download on the Resources page of this web site or by calling Skillman at 313-393-1185.

"Concerning Kids” is a two-year Skillman study being conducted by the Center for Survey Research and Analysis at the University of Connecticut. The Baseline Survey Results April 2002 details some of the following findings on issues relating to children.

80% of Detroiters report that violence toward youth is “very important” to them. Whereas 67% in out-Wayne, 63% in Macomb and 65% in Oakland report the same.

Breakdown of the above show African-Americans are significantly more likely than Whites to report violence toward youth as important.
