Grants

Created in 1960, The Skillman Foundation is a Detroit, Michigan-based private grantmaking foundation that is a charitable, tax-exempt organization. Like most private foundations, Skillman does not raise money but uses its resources to support other nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.

The Foundation has an annual grants budget of approximately $30 million. Grants are primarily made in three programs: Good Schools, Good Neighborhoods, and Good Opportunities.

We strongly encourage organizations seeking funding from the Foundation to examine in detail the Current Strategies sections of each program, and all application guidelines and information.
