Alex Allen
Alex J. Allen, III, is the Program Officer for The Skillman Foundation’s Good Neighborhoods program in the Osborn and Northend Central Woodward communities. A native Detroiter, Allen attended Henry Ford High School, has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business and a master’s in Administration from Central Michigan University. Allen has been involved in various aspects of community development and related work for the past 25 years. Prior to joining Skillman, Allen was vice president of the Community Planning & Research Division at Isles, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Trenton, NJ, that is committed to fostering self-reliant families in healthy, sustainable communities in the New Jersey region. Allen has volunteered for several years as a football coach and mentor, and has a passion for life skills and leadership development for the student/athlete. Alex and his wife, Sonja, have one child, Alex, IV.
